Things you can do: -Follow safety measures. -Practice safety hygiene. -Social distancing with human connection and compassion. (6 feet or stay at home) -Think ahead. Don’t panic. Emergency preparedness from where you are now, with what means you are able, to the future looking ahead. -Help your neighbor without hurting yourself. .
*Also, if you are helping the elderly by going out for them, please wear gloves & masks, and sanitize their products before handing them over. Be careful that you or the product is not a carrier. *
Advice from a nurse.
If you get this virus:
-You may wish to buy: Kleenex/TP, Acetaminophen (Tylenol) in 325mg tablets, Ibuprofen (Advil) in 200mg tablets, Mucinex, Robitussin or DayQuil/NyQuil, whatever your cough medicine of choice is.
-Purchase a humidifier or turn the shower onto hot and sit in the bathroom breathing in the steam.
-Make a big batch of your favorite soup to freeze and have on hand.
-Asthma patients are recommended to have their prescription inhalers on hand and/or refills.
-Prepare as you would for bronchitis or pneumonia.
-Hydrate, Rest, Expectorants. Suppressants. Fever management.
-Wear a mask to go to the doctor.
-Preexisting lung conditions (COPD, emphysema, lung cancer) or immunosuppressant patients, visit your PCP or specialist now for recommended advice in preparation.
-Kids bounce back quickly (so far) unless they have a lung disease like CF. Use pediatric dosing of same meds.
