Parisian Memoirs

My Parisian Memoir from July 11, 2016:

Rue de Rivoli

“I might not have everything together, but we made it. We are travel weary with jet lag, sleep deprived and starving, but we made it. Our balcony opens up to the fragrance of fresh baked bread, cotton candy, car horns, and the hustle and bustle of Parisian life.

From the top most balcony of Hotel Brighton, we look out and see the Pyramide du Louvre, the Jardin des Tuileries, and the Eiffel Tower. My body is humming with the anticipation as I imagine myself stepping into the film Sabrina. I want to say “I found myself in Paris.”

We don’t have enough time here, but we are here. The Louvre alone I could spend a year in and still not feel and know everything there is to lose my soul completely in the brush strokes of those that came before me...

We will share a profound moment underneath the glass panes of the Pyramide du Louvre and stand upon “La Voie Triomphale”. We will walk the line of sight to the Arc, Garden, and beyond to the Obelisk. We will watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night this evening as we drink champagne and eat macaroons.

We will know Paris.”
